A Diretoria da ANPUR manifesta profunda preocupação em relação às alterações  propostas pela Diretoria de Pesquisas da Fundação Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) para o Censo Agropecuário Nacional. As alterações propostas reduzirão em cerca de 60% os dados a serem levantados pelo próximo Censo, o que compromete de forma inexorável a qualidade dos dados públicos sobre a produção agrícola no país. Uma vez que a produção de dados públicos detalhados e com periodicidade histórica constante é a forma de garantir a formulação de políticas públicas consistentes e é a base para estudos acadêmicos confiáveis, repudiamos a alteração na coleta de dados do próximo Censo Agropecuário brasileiro. Na tentativa de manutenção dos dados públicos sobre a produção agrícola no país, subscrevemos com nossos colegas da Associação dos Geógrafos Brasileiros (AGB) e demais associações a nota abaixo sobre as alterações no Censo Agropecuário Nacional - IBGE.
