O Instituto Pereira Passos lança a 2ª edição do Prêmio IPP Maurício de Almeida Abreu para selecionar teses e dissertações sobre a cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O objetivo é estimular a reflexão sobre a realidade social, urbana, econômica, política, cultural e ambiental do município e suas interações com a Região Metropolitana.

O Júri deliberou pela concessão do III Prêmio Ana Clara Torres Ribeiro (2017) para o livro “Guerra dos lugares: A colonização da terra e da moradia na era das finanças”, de Raquel Rolnik. O Júri conferiu ainda Menção Honrosa a: “Quanto vale a chuva? Impactos da BR-364 na regionalização da Amazônia Ocidental”, de Markus Erwin Brose.
