ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR  (2) FULL-TIME POSITIONS

The Institute of Urban and Territorial Studies (Instituto de Estudios Urbanos y Territoriales – IEUT) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) is opening two Profesor/Researcher full-time positions (44 hours/week).

Position Description

The call is for candidates with consolidated experience in academic research and teaching in one or more of the following areas: Urban Planning Theory, Urban Economics, and Mobility.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong academic trajectory and scientific productivity, with publications in high impact journals, allocation of research funds from national and/or international funds, interdisciplinary collaboration in any of the fields of this call, national and international cooperation networks, among others, as well as knowledge regarding the academic project of the Institute of Urban and Territorial Studies.

Candidates must demonstrate experience in the guidance of undergraduate and graduate level thesis, as well as teaching experience at both levels. The latest student evaluations should be included in the application. Candidate must have fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken.

The workload distribution will be agreed with the Chair of the IEUT and will include teaching, research, and academic management tasks. The distribution will be reviewed annually, according to the needs of IEUT.

It is required to be in possession of a Ph.D. degree in areas related to urban planning, urban economy or mobility. The academic category and remuneration will be settled according to the criteria of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, based on the candidate’s experience and curricular background.
